The goals of the Barcelona-Victoria Plzen match (5-1) in the Champions League

The Czech club played in the Champions League for three years, but could not face the big favourite in the biggest football arena in Europe. Although for a while it was 1:2 and after an hour of play, Chorý had a tutu and could reduce it to 2:3.

But as soon as he kicked the goal, Lewandowski completed the hat trick and the home team led 4:1. And immediately substitute Ferran Torres made the final score 5:1 after an exhibition pass by Dembélé, probably the best man of the home team.

"The boys gave it their all, they did what they could, but it wasn't enough. It's hard to blame them," Pilsen coach Michal Bílek said in an interview with Nova Sport.

"There were situations that, if we had solved better, we could have been uncomfortable. It's a great experience for everyone, the opponent was of high quality and confirmed it in every way," noted the coach from Pilsen.

The difference between the two teams screamed. Barcelona concentrated exclusively on the offensive to entertain almost eighty thousand spectators, and thus did not look so much at any work in the defence. The home side got their revenge at the end of the half.

Defender Jemelka completed the situation in the opponent's goal, returned the rebound with a precise centre between the penalty and the small goal, where Sýkora outpaced Jordi Alba and scored with his head.

The Pilsen substitutes jumped with joy from the bench to the field, and coach Bílek quickly gave instructions. There was a minute plus set-up left before the break, but Mosquera lost the ball at his own goal. Dembélé, playing with gusto, poked it with a powerful slide, got up quickly and sent a beautiful cross to the back post. The ball flew over goalkeeper Staňek and captain Hejda, and Lewandowski gave Barcelona peace in the fall.

Colombian midfielder Mosquera was also involved in another exciting first-half moment. Chorý won the header and extended Hejda's long kick for himself. Mosquera got in front of stopper Christensen, who tripped him from behind. Belgian referee Visser blew the whistle for the penalty and held up a red card for the Danish defender, who was lying on the ground holding his face.

While Christensen was being treated, the video assistant noticed that Mosquera first fouled in the fight when he elbowed his opponent in the face. The head referee then changed his verdict, cancelled the penalty, did not exclude Christensen and reprimanded Mosquera.

That was at 1-0, which Barcelona won after eleven minutes. From the beginning, she did not lend the Czech opponent the ball and made her way into shooting positions. Paradoxically, she scored after a corner kick, which Plzeň must regret doubly.

If the guests could control anything, it would be standards. But the guests lost two aerial battles, Koundé returned the cross to the front post and Pernic and Kalvach fell asleep when Kessié headed.

At times, the Pilsen team faltered under great pressure, the defence was in trouble, and Staňk made more and more difficult saves. But even so, the guests managed to attack dangerously at times, especially after hesitations in the passing game, the home team sometimes acted laxly. But the quick breaks of Kalvach and after him Vlkanova slowed them down, they didn't trust each other in the sprint fights and allowed the home team to come back.

The visitors got the second goal after half an hour and again it was useless. They survived much more dangerous situations without disaster, but then Hejda left too much space for Lewandowski. On the edge of the box, the Polish striker stretched, indicated and pulled the shot towards the post. Staněk could not achieve that.

The goal did not fall from the most beautiful action, when the 19-year-old Pedri broke through the middle, and collided with Lewandowski, who freed him with his foot. Pedri sent the ball past Staňek, but the crossing Jemelka was hit on the goal line.

Pilsen striker Tomáš Chorý tries to keep the ball in front of defender Jules Kunde from Barcelona.

Pilsen goalkeeper Jindřich Staněk boxes the ball outside the penalty area right in front of Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski.

Pilsen's Václav Jemelka is not enough for Sergi Roberto from Barcelona in the Champions League match at the Camp Nou stadium.

Pilsen's Jhon Mosquera heads in front of Sergi Robert, an opponent from Barcelona.

After the break, the hosts continued to create opportunities, and the guests tried to get angry from quick counter-attacks. With the help of Staňek, who caught the dangerous bullets, the guests still lived. And maybe they would even make Barcelona nervous if Chorý scored after Mosquera's offer. He pulled the action on the left side and made a well-timed pass behind the defence. The Plzeň striker finished in a slide to the long leg and kicked over.

And soon he regretted it. It was enough for Torres to knock on the edge of the box to Lewandowski, who fired from the first of the eighteen meters with a patter to the post. Stanek reached for the ball, but could not push it out of the goal. Lewandowski completed his sixth Champions League hat-trick, Barcelona's first since joining from Bayern in July. He gave the first in Dortmund, the next four in Bayern.
