Albania confirms Iran's involvement in the cyber attack that aimed to destroy its digital infrastructure

A deputy in the Albanian parliament confirmed in statements to the Al-Arabiya channel, today, Wednesday, that his country has evidence of Iran's involvement in the cyber attack, stressing that the Albanian security services have identified the Iranian groups that carried out the cyber attack.
In detail, the Albanian MP said that the Iranian cyber attack was aimed at destroying Albania's digital infrastructure, adding that "the Iranian regime is disturbed by our country's stances against it," calling on Iran to change its behaviour in support of terrorism in the world.
At the same time, Britain announced that its National Cyber Security Center monitored elements linked to the Iranian state, as it is "almost certainly" responsible for a cyber attack targeting the Albanian government last July.
"Iran's reckless actions have demonstrated a blatant disregard for the Albanian people and have severely restricted their ability to access essential public services," British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said in a statement. "Britain supports our esteemed partner and ally in the North Atlantic. We join Albania and other allies in exposing Iran's unacceptable behaviour."
On the other hand, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that Tehran strongly condemned today, Wednesday, Albania's decision to cut diplomatic relations with it, and rejected Tirana's reasons for taking this step, describing it as "baseless allegations."
Albania cut diplomatic ties with Iran on Wednesday and expelled its diplomats after a cyber attack last July, accusing Iran of carrying out it, in a move backed by Washington and vowing to respond to the attack on its NATO ally.
